The following keyboard shortcuts are available on the native app for macOS:
CMD + HCMD + SHIFT + Arrow DownCMD + SHIFT + Arrow UpNote: The above shortcuts only work while the app is running (visible in the menubar).
Hide My Screen works completely offline (except for installation and updates).
Hide My Screen is built to run on versions 11.0 or higher.
This is a result of how the new fullscreen workspace is created and presented. The only workaround at the moment is to:
You probably need to:

If your browser tries to block fingerprinting, one of the things it will do is lie about the screen dimensions. This confuses trackers but, unfortunately, also hinders Hide My Screen, as it needs this information to correctly position the keyhole when typing.
If you're using Brave, you have a couple of options:
Disable the false screen size per site:
Advanced ControlsBlock fingerprinting to Allow fingerprintingDisable false screen size reporting globally:

Hide My Screen's Follow Typing feature works by watching for key strokes. In accordance with our Privacy Policy, the text you type is never actually read and no data is stored. The key strokes are only used to determine where on the page you're typing. This allows the Hide My Screen spotlight — or "keyhole" — to follow along.
Hide My Screen (Full) includes everything in the free App Store version, plus native caret tracking — the cursor follows your typing across apps without needing separate app-specific extensions. It also unlocks greater customisation, the frosted glass overlay, and removes Hide My Screen branding from the overlay. It works across far more native apps including Chrome, Safari, Brave, Xcode, VS Code, Obsidian, and more.
The free App Store version gives you the system-wide privacy overlay, keyboard shortcuts, menubar integration, and adjustable opacity. However, caret tracking requires separate app-specific extensions. The Full version ($19.99) adds native caret tracking built in, greater customisation options, the frosted glass overlay, and removes Hide My Screen branding from the overlay.
