These terms apply to the Hide My Screen app, the Hide My Screen browser extension, and the hidemyscreen.app website. They are an agreement between you and Blue Speck Ltd ("Blue Speck", "we", "us", or "our"). By buying or using Hide My Screen, you agree to these terms. If you got Hide My Screen from the Mac App Store, Apple's licence terms apply to it, and these terms apply alongside them where Apple allows.
Hide My Screen is made by Blue Speck Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company no. 14084890. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. You can contact us at [email protected].
We own Hide My Screen and all rights in it. When you get Hide My Screen, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it for your own purposes. You may not sell, rent, share, or redistribute the app, your licence, or your download link.
Hide My Screen is a visual privacy tool. It limits what people near you can see on your screen. It is not a security tool. Anything inside the spotlight, and the overlay itself, can still be captured by other software, screen recordings, or screen sharing.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Under UK law, digital content you buy must be as described, fit for purpose, and of satisfactory quality. If you live outside the UK, you also keep any rights that the consumer law of your country gives you.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you bought or started using Hide My Screen. If you use Hide My Screen for business, we are not liable for business losses or loss of data, and our total liability to you for any claim about a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. If faulty digital content from us damages your device or other digital content, we will repair the damage or pay you compensation, as the law requires. We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.
We may update these terms. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated. The terms in force when you made a purchase apply to that purchase.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or another country, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
